Keep on eye on Ken's blog as well! He's starting to post his work too. He was a huge inspiration, and it was so nice working toegether from the early days all the way til the end. And thanks to Kendal and Shannon, our amazing Production Designer and Art Director...who I learned so much from on this project!

Great stuff lindsey! I was wondering if you could go into how each of these paintings were assigned to you?Does your supervisor just ask you to do a particular environment or do you kind of just go through the script and pick certain scenes?

thanks

Thanks everyone!

Michael-
These are all visual development images, and pretty early on. So at this point, nothing has been designed or modeled. When we do keys we're working over the rough layout..and when doing set design work we're working with 3d set designer. So when it's early you are given a particular location/moment from the script. And they communicate what they want..mood/location etc. Then I usually start with thumbnails, and they'll pick a direction they want you do go in. While working on the painting we have daily art director/production designer rounds where they give you notes and direction.
